Waitrose To Expand Online Delivery Service

Waitrose online delivery service is reportedly set to undergo significant expansion.
Financial website Thisismoney.co.uk revealed that the Waitrose Deliver service is to be extended to more than a third of its 190 stores in the next few months – double the number of outlets that offered the facility to shoppers last summer.
The news comes despite John Lewis Partnership, the grocer’s parent company, owning 25 per cent of retail delivery rival Ocado, which the majority of consumers assume is Waitrose in all but name, according to retail experts.
Ocado operates by delivering products mainly supplied by Waitrose and currently makes almost ten times as many deliveries as Waitrose Deliver .
The expansion plans are being driven by managing director Mark Price, who helped launch the online service eight years ago.
