Morrisons is set to launch a large-scale IT recruitment drive, with plans to recruit over 500 IT staff and consultants over the next two years.
The move by the UKs fourth largest supermarket chain follows the signing of a landmark deal secured with software giant Oracle in December last year.
"We have signed an ERP (enterprise resource planning software) deal with Oracle and we are planning and scoping the processes of that," said a Morrisons spokesman.
The 500-plus IT experts will work on the supermarkets technology-led business transformation project, named Project Evolve internally.
Last year, Morrisons chief executive Marc Bolland said the group was firmly behind plans to spend £110 million on IT recruitment in the next three years.
