Asda, the UK’s second largest supermarket group, is recalling 115,000 reusable Chinese-made bottles due to fears that the caps may break off.

The pink, yellow and orange coloured children’s (intended for kids aged 3+) bottles are being recalled by Asda’s technical team following a customer complaint which revealed the problem.

An Asda spokesman said: "Although nobody has been hurt, we are asking anyone who bought one of these bottles to bring it back to their nearest store where they will be given a refund ."

The bottles that have got bosses at the Wal-mart owned retailer worried are orange-coloured children's bottles with a snail and spider design, pink-coloured with a butterfly design and yellow-coloured with stars .

Only bottles with specific barcodes are subject to the recall, Asda said.

More information and details on the recall are available on Asda's customer relations helpline : 0500 100 055
