Description
With two Royal Warrants, over 300 years of history and six Masters of Wine, Berry Bros. & Rudd is Britain’s original wine and spirits merchant. Still run by members of the Berry and Rudd families, we believe that everything you should look for in a wine or spirit comes down to one simple question: “Is it good to drink?” The Wine Merchant’s Bourgogne Pinot Noir was made by Maison Camille Giroud, the celebrated negociant founded in Beaune in 1865. Winemaker Carel Voorhuis sourced the grapes from a handful of quality-minded growers, primarily in the Cote de Beaune and Cote Chalonnaise. It is a classic expression of this famous grape in its spiritual home.
Elegant and refined, this wine has crunchy, red-berry fruit, silky tannins and a floral perfume. It requires no further ageing and is an excellent match for fish, game or lighter red-meat dishes.
The grapes for this cuvée were de-stemmed. Fermentation took place with natural yeast, followed by ageing for 10 months in used French oak barrels. It is un-fined and gently filtered before bottling
Goes well with fish in sauce, pork and game dishes
