Asda cuts diesel fuel costs by 2p

Asda has slashed the price of diesel for motorists who fill up their vehicles at one of its fuel stations by 2p.
From yesterday (March 26th), drivers received the discounted rate, which is supermarket’s new national petrol price.
Road users visiting Asda’s petrol stations will pay no more than 139.7ppl on diesel, while the price of unleaded fuel remains at its national price cap of no more than 134.7ppl.
The food and drink giant’s petrol trading director Andy Peake said when the company reduces costs, it does so everywhere, so consumers all over the country will be able to benefit from lower prices, “regardless of where they live and are travelling to this Easter weekend”.
In order to find out how much money they could save on fuel, motorists can use Asda’s petrol price comparison site that enables people to look up the lowest priced fuel before they go to fill up.
This comes after a fuel price war kicked off between the UK’s major supermarkets earlier this month, which started when Sainsbury’s made the move to take 4p off its petrol costs and 3p off diesel.
