A new fuel saver scheme has been launched by Morrisons supermarket.
The initiative sees the retailer joining forces with 34 high street brands to bring the project – called Fuel Saver – to the UK.
Customers looking to take part in the plan can collect gift cards in Morrisons. They will then be given a voucher offering money off petrol – reducing their fill-up cost by 1p a litre for every £10 they spend in participating shops.
These gift cards can be used to purchase goods at any of the high street stores involved in the programme.
Richard Hodgson, commercial director of Morrisons, noted: “We know that the cost of filling the family car is a real worry for our families but using Fuel Saver for purchases can lead to very large savings.”
Mr Hodgson explained those who embrace the initiative could find they never again have to pay the full price for petrol.
Morrisons noted the scheme will be particularly beneficial for consumers as they begin to think about Christmas, as the gift cards could be used to buy gifts for friends and family in the run up to December 25th.
