Sainsbury’s has announced the expansion of its range of delicatessen and pre-pack cheeses, a move designed to provide customers with a wider and more varied selection.
The supermarket has worked with international cheesemakers over the last 18 months to improve the quality of its products, resulting in the addition of 30 new and improved varieties to its Taste the Difference range.
Recently-introduced products include the Brillat Savarin from Burgundy and Normandy, the Italian Torte Gorgonzola and the British-made Blacksticks Premier Cru and Shropshire Red.
Additionally, the company has introduced revamped packaging for its cheese products, which includes detailed information on its flavour, while deli customers can sample cheeses before buying.
“With hundreds of different cheeses to choose from, Sainsbury’s has made choosing the perfect cheese even easier,” said the supermarket chain.
This comes after the company recently introduced special “cobweb” apples last week, in time for Halloween.
