American Express and Foursquare, the popular location-based social network, have teamed up to launch a range of voucher-free offers to their UK members.
The new money saving initiative will allow Foursquare users who are American Express cardholders to check-in to a range of participating high street outlets and restaurants, including House of Fraser, Nando’s, Tesco and Pizza Express, and automatically receive special cut-price offers .
From today, users who securely sync their Amex card with the Foursquare mobile app will have the option to add an exclusive deal to their card every time they check in to a location where a specific deal is on offer.
When they make their purchase using their Amex card, the particular deal will automatically be credited to their American Express account within three to five working days, and they will be notified via the Foursquare app that the deal has been activated.
Julie Hay, Head of Credit Cards at American Express, said the scheme was the “perfect way” for Britons to get hassle-free discounts .
She commented: “This partnership with foursquare is a first for our UK Cardmembers at a time when value-driven Brits are becoming increasingly tech savvy.”
“Cardmembers can now save up to £80 by taking advantage of these voucher-free offers. This is on top of the regular American Express rewards such as Cashback, Avios and Membership Rewards they earn by spending on their Card.”
The move comes in response to recent research by the credit card operator, which found that more than half (53 per cent) of UK adults now take more advantage of discounts, vouchers and special deals when shopping or eating out, compared to 12 months ago.
