Tesco Clubcard holders to benefit from LivingSocial tie-up

Supermarket giant Tesco has joined forces with special deals website LivingSocial to offer people the chance to swap Clubcard points for offers .
Under the joint pilot scheme, Tesco Clubcard holders in Sheffield will be able to swap £7.50 in Clubcard vouchers for £15 of LivingSocial deal pounds.
The scheme will last for 12 weeks or until 10,000 swap deals have been made, and if successful could be extended and rolled out into other areas. It can be accessed online at tesco.com/clubcard/sheffield.
Explaining the decision to choose Sheffield for the trial, Ian Simkins, freetime director of Tesco, said the Yorkshire city had, “a wealth of exciting and unique activities on offer”.
“By partnering with LivingSocial, we are inviting our Clubcard members to rediscover the very best of where they live,” he added.
A LivingSocial spokesman said: “We wanted an area that has a good few Tesco stores, so we could match Tesco’s drive to help local communities and get ourselves exposed to more local customers.”
LivingSocial offers consumers daily savings ranging from 50pc to 90pc on various local services, products and outings, including restaurant meals, spa breaks and luxury weekend getaways .
