Sky launches unlimited fibre broadband deals

Sky has today launched a new fibre-based broadband package that offers users unlimited broadband usage and super-fast download speeds.
The Sky Fibre Unlimited internet and home phone package is the company’s first fibre-based bundle and enables consumers to enjoy rapid broadband speeds of up to 40Mbps without having to worry about data consumption, making it ideal for those who like streaming media content, downloading music/films or playing online games .
“Customers in a fibre network coverage area can now access download speeds of up to 40Mbps with a totally unlimited product that has no usage caps,” Sky said in a statement.
To access the cap-free service, which costs just £20 a month, customers need to sign up for Sky Talk Freetime and a Sky phone line. There is no charge for the home phone plan while Sky line rental costs £12.25 per month, taking the total package price to at least £32.25 per month.
The fibre broadband package comes with a wireless broadband router with ‘N’ technology, described by Sky as its “best ever”, and free access to Wi-Fi hotspots on The Cloud’s UK network.
Also included is a one-year free trial of McAfee Internet Security Suite, along with Sky email and 24/7 technical support.
The only downside is availability, with the new package only currently available to 30 per cent of UK households – those in Sky’s fibre network area.
