Tesco ups Social Marketing efforts with launch of new Facebook page

Tesco has launched an official Facebook page in a bid to boost social marketing and further develop an online relationship with its customers.
Created by Harvest Digital, the new microsite (Facebook.com/TescoGB) brings together content from all of Tesco’s internet properties including Tesco.com and Tescorealfood.com.
The supermarket giant will offer a range of exclusive deals and promotions to its Facebook fans, and plans to use the page to improve customer service by allowing shoppers to speak directly to the brand via online discussion forums and customer relations tabs.
A Tesco spokeswoman said: “Customers want to know what Tesco is offering on a massive range of topics – from our role in the community through to Clubcard offers.”
“We’ve created this site to bring together all the Tesco online communities – such as Real Food, Clubcard and Race for Life – and to make it easier for customers to talk to us about what interests them.”
