Waitrose has recruited former Asda wine buyer Katie Mollet to help further develop its industry-leading wine range.
Mollet will join Waitrose’s wine team from the start of next week (August 8), where she will have special buying responsibility for Italian, Bag-in-Box, Small Bottle and Low Alcohol wines .
The wine expert has five years experience working within the supermarket sector. In 2006 she was hired by Asda as a spirits trading assistant, after graduating from the University of Durham.
She then went on to become the retailer’s Wine Selector with responsibility for Italy, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, Germany, USA, small bottles and bag in box.
“I am delighted and honoured to be joining the Waitrose wine team,” Mollet said. “The quality and diversity of the Waitrose wine range is industry-leading and I look forward to making my own mark on the range in the future.”
