Sainsburys To Launch Music And Movie Download Service

Sainsbury’s has announced it is expanding its online entertainment offering by launching a new digital music and film download service in time for Christmas .

The new service will allow customers to download the latest tracks and albums, as well as back catalogues, from all the major artists and record labels at competitive prices.
Downloads will be compatible with all music libraries and MP3 players, including Apple’s iTunes service and iPod devices.
Online shoppers will also be offered a wide range of movies for purchase or download, which will include new releases and classic titles. A range of eBooks will also be introduced early next year.
The move follows the recent launch of Sainsburys new website Sainsburysentertainment.co.uk, which provides access to over 150,000 books, DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs and video games .
Richard Crampton, head of entertainment at the supermarket chain, said: “Online enables us to offer much more than we can in store. The new site will join seamlessly with our existing non-food online offer so customers can browse and discover their favorite music, films, books and games easily.
