Asda Issues Paper Shredder Recall

Asda has been forced to recall thousands of paper shredders after receiving a number of safety complaints from angry customers.
Vickie North, a spokeswoman for the supermarket chain, said the £19.97 eight-sheet diamond cut shredder was being recalled as a precaution following complaints of electric shocks.
She commented: “A handful of customers experienced a small shock but there have been no injuries . This is not potentially fatal and is not causing injuries; it is more of a precaution.”
Asda said tests showed that the electric shocks may have been caused by a fault in the product’s plug.
A statement from the retailer said: “We have become aware of a potential safety issue with this paper shredder .”
“If you have bought this shredder, please could you stop using it immediately and return it to your nearest Asda store for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
For more information regarding the recall, customers have been advised to contact Asda’s customer relations team on 0500 100 055.
