Tesco has sparked a new price war by cutting the price of the new Xbox 360 Slim games console from Microsoft.
The supermarket giant has reduced the price of the revamped Xbox 360, which has been available for pre-order in the UK for a number of weeks, from £200 to £189 ahead of its official launch this Friday (July 16).
The reduced price tag, which matches the price being offered by online retailer Amazon, also comes with double clubcard points (worth more than £12) and free delivery.
Tesco has also promised that all pre-orders placed before July 15th will be delivered on the July 16th launch day.
The new all-black Xbox 360 has been slimmed down and restyled to include touch-sensitive buttons.
Beneath the hood, the console comes with a larger hard drive (250GB) than that of the current model – Xbox 360 Elite – built in WiFi, a single “whisper quiet” internal fan for improved cooling and a special port for the upcoming Kinect motion controller.
