Asda has announced it is to launch a new range of affordable wedding products aimed at couples on a budget.
The supermarket chain said from May, brides-to-be will be able to pick up strapless floor-length satin or chiffon ivory wedding dress for just £60, while grooms-to-be will be offered a suit, shirt and tie costs for a mere £46.
The bargain wedding collection, which has been designed by a specialist team, also includes bridesmaid dresses from just £28, wedding rings for £64 and flower bouquets for under £50.
Asda claims the discount range will enable couples to purchase all their wedding essentials for less than £1,000.
The move comes after a recent study by the Walmart-owned retailer found that wedding costs was the biggest concern amongst brides-to-be in the UK.
A spokeswoman for Asda said the company is “proud to be launching the UK’s most affordable wedding collection” and added that it is anticipating strong demand for the new range as it will go on sale just in time for the peak wedding season.
To cope with the high demand, Asda is urging couples interested in the wedding collection to register their interest online at Asda.com/yourasda before Sunday 21 February.
