Waitrose Receives Second Royal Warrant

Waitrose has been awarded a Royal Warrant in recognition of its supply off goods to the Prince of Wales.
Royal Warrants are only given to individuals or companies that have provided services to a member of the royal family for at least five years.
The John Lewis-owned supermarket chain already holds a Royal Warrant as Grocer and Wine and Spirit Merchants to Her Majesty The Queen, and previously held one as grocer to the late Queen Mother from 1994 to 2007.
“To hold two Royal Warrants is a huge honour and I know how pleased and proud everyone at Waitrose will be proud when they hear the news of this award by His Royal Highness,” said Mark Price, Waitrose’s Managing Director.
The grocery retailer’s second Royal Warrant will be effective from January 1st 2011.
Waitrose recently unveiled plans to help regenerate Bracknell – the Berkshire town where its head office is based – by opening a new multi-million pound, 36,000 sq ft superstore in the town centre.
The new supermarket will represent the first new retail building to be built in Bracknell town centre for more than a quarter of century.
