Tesco Serves Up Biggest Ever Christmas Feast For Staff

Tesco treated its staff to the largest festive feast in the country earlier this week as part of its Christmas celebrations.

The supermarket giant prepared a Christmas dinner for all 230,000 staff employed across its UK stores, depots and offices in a 24-hour military-style operation.
The meal, which was served up by managers, consisted of 51,166kg of turkeys (around 10,000 birds), 23,835kg of potatoes, 17,300kg each of parsnips and sprouts and some 5,000 pints of gravy.
Employees were also served pigs in blankets, carrots and peas, and given the choice of either Christmas pudding or trifle for dessert .
The giant staff meal was served by bosses in five sittings – three at lunchtime and two after midnight on Tuesday and Wednesday for the retailer’s late-night workers.
A store spokeswoman said: “It was the biggest Christmas lunch in the country. All staff in stores, offices and depots were invited.”
