Fuel Prices Cut At Asda

Asda has reduced the price of its fuel at its supermarket forecourts once more, this time cutting the price of both unleaded and diesel by up to 1p per litre and 2p per litre respectively.
The latest price cuts mean a litre of petrol at Asda now costs 111.9p a litre, while the price of diesel now stands at 114.9p a litre.
The UK’s second largest supermarket chain said fuel prices will remain the same until at least the end of the August bank holiday weekend.
AA spokesman Paul Watters said: “This will give some relief to drivers who wondered how they were going to afford up to 14p a litre or £7 a tank more than this time last year.”
The move comes after latest figures from Asda’s monthly income tracker showed that family spending power has fallen by 4.2 per cent year-on-year, which equates to a £7 fall in disposable income each week.
Meanwhile, Sainsburys has also confirmed that its prices at its fuel pumps will drop by the same amount in certain areas to ensure it continues “to be competitively priced locally”.
