After a turbulent few years struggling to fight of competition and win the hearts of the British public with chic new fashion designs, Marks and Spencer (M & S) seem to have finally got it right.
With the unveiling of next years summer collection, M & S is showing that they are once again at the forefront of selling fashion. The new collection is not just all about hype but more importantly they are clothes that are wearable, affordable and stylish.
Their last collection sold extremely well with the help of celebrities such as Twiggy, Erin O’Connor and Laura Bailey. They helped to put the M & S name back at the top and on everyone’s lips. This time they may not need such help.
M & S has been a High Street favourite not only for years but for decades. They have now come back with inspired fashion collections, which have now given them a niche market.
Designers have forgotten about last seasons boho look and are concentrating on tailored fashion including culottes, city shorts and blazers. The new collection is very Fifties so very glamorous having been inspired by films stars such as Katherine Hepburn and Jane Russell.
To show that the store can keep up with new trends, they also have pieces inspired by the Cuban look and the approaching season’s colour which is white.
The accessories have also faired very well, with two tone shoes and monochrome sparkling bead necklaces.
Mo White of Happy magazine said, “I really liked it. I thought it was a great success. The Fifties and nautical trends will sell really well.”
