Kids have just started their summer holidays so the last thing on their minds is what they’ll be wearing when they start the new term.
Supermarkets however have other ideas with Asda announcing theie cheapest uniforms cost just £4.
George polo shirts cost 50p, sweatshirts cost £1.75 and skirts and trousers are just £1.75.
The uniforms are available for children ages three to 12 and is a reaction to Marks and Spencer who launched their £6.50 uniform last week, (kids over 6 pay £13.50.)
An Asda spokesman said, “We believe it is time that pricing structures that increase with age should be challenged and parents of older or larger children should not be penalised in this way.”
The spokesman added that the same uniforms cost £6.25 in 2007 and £10.25 in 2005.
An M&S spokeswoman said, “Asda are ignoring the fact that they price school uniforms differently by age too, except this one.”
