Tesco has launched its largest ever fuel saving promotion, offering hard-pressed UK motorists "extra value" at its petrol forecourts.
Under the new offer, customers can save 10p per litre on the price of petrol or diesel when they spend £60 or more on their grocery shopping in-store or online.
"We know families are feeling the pinch in these tough times so I'm pleased we can offer customers extra value at the pumps," Tesco's UK chief Richard Brasher said.
The petrol coupon promotion got underway yesterday (Monday 30 January) and is being supported by TV and press advertising, as well as in-store marketing.
It will run until February alongside the existing promotion which offers shoppers who spend £40 on groceries a voucher that allows them to save £5 off their next £40 shop.
A spokesman for the supermarket giant commented: "We've been running similar promotions for months, even years. The amounts can change but the discounts have always been very popular in the past."
