The price war between the UK's leading supermarkets shows no signs of letting up after Sainsbury's pledged to match thousands of prices at Tesco and Asda.
On Wednesday 12 October the retailer will roll out its Brand Match promotion, under which customers will immediately be refunded if any of the branded goods in their Sainsburys basket or trolley are cheaper at either of its major rivals.
If good are found to be more expensive at Sainsburys, shoppers will receive a voucher for the difference at the checkout to spend on their next shop.
Customers will need to spend a minimum of £20 in-store to qualify for the promotion and redeem any coupons they receive within two weeks.
The Brand Match voucher scheme has already been successfully trialled at Sainsburys stores in Northern Ireland, and comes just two weeks after Tesco launched its £500m Big Price Drop, which saw prices slashed on more than 3,000 products.
Last week Waitrose kicked off a marketing campaign aimed at highlighting the value it offers it customers, while Asda has been running a price guarantee campaign since last year.
