Supermarket chain Asda has slashed the price of the Nintendo Wii to a record low of just £89.
The discounted deal is part of a Wii Family Edition package that includes the new white Wii console, two games - Wii Sports and Wii Party one controller and a nunchuck.
The offer is expected to prove very popular, especially with parents in the run-up to Christmas and comes trading magazine MCV reported that retailers would be cutting the consoles price to help boost sales .
Sales of the Wii, which launched in Europe in December 2006, are also likely to increase following the launch of the highly anticipated Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which will be released in the UK on November 20.
The Asda deal is likely to be the last holiday season offer on the iconic Wii, as Nintendo is expected to launch its home console successor the Wii U in time for summer 2012.
Asda shoppers can also pick up discounts on several chart games including Just Dance 3, F1 2011, Dead Island and Kinect Sports: Season Two.
