Tesco has launched a new one-price-fits-all school uniform at a ultra-low price of just £3.75, undercutting rivals Asda and Sainsburys .
The UKs largest retailer is offering parents the chance to pick up polo shirts for 50p, sweaters for £1.75 and trousers or skirts for £1.50 the lowest prices available.
The cost of the uniform is the same for pupils of all ages and sizes, from three-year-olds starting nursery to 16-year-olds at secondary school.
Tescos offer undercuts Sainsburys £4.66 complete uniform deal - £2 each for sweatshirts, skirts and trousers and a pack of three polo shirts and Asdas £6 offer for a pack of two polo shirts, trousers or skirts and sweatshirts .
Jan Marchant, Tesco Clothing Buying Director said: "Parents like different price options for Back to School and our Value range offers them a fantastic, quality product, produced in line with Ethical Trading Initiative guidelines, at an unbeatable price.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, a Tesco spokesman stressed that its low prices does not mean it has compromised on the quality of its clothing .
He said: "Tesco's Value school uniform has been rigorously tested for tough school wear and tear to British and European standards."
"It matches the quality of any other uniform around the same price range on the high street. We make sure they are as good as they can be with the amount they cost."
