Asda, Britains second largest supermarket group, is set to give its stores a spooky makeover with the roll-out out its largest-ever Halloween display .
The point of purchase display, which will incorporate sound and motion, has been implemented by leading in-store marketing agency Bezier, and will be introduced across stores nationwide as of September 20.
The campaign materials have been designed to illustrate an Asda Family haunted house, and include hanging beams, chandeliers and a broken-floorboard floor design .
Also set to be included is a black-curtained entrance to the Halloween aisle and various POP depicting the Asda Family characters and the different rooms of the haunted house .
To add to the spooky settings, the stores will install sound and motion effects in the form of shuddering monsters and revolving bow-ties, while the eyes of the family characters also feature LED lights .
Steph Hughes, Asdas events POP manager at said: "Halloween is increasingly becoming one of the major seasonal events in stores throughout the UK ."
"For the 2007 merchandising we wanted to build on last years success with an even bigger and better campaign . This year we're introducing The Asda Family in a haunted mansion, which we think adds a sense of fun and occasion to the stores ."
Business unit director for bezier, Nina Butt added: "By adding sound and movement into this years campaign it gives the merchandise an extra point of interest and is fun for both adults and children browsing the aisle."
