Supermarket chain Waitrose has extended its recall of own-label mixed seed products due to the presence of salmonella .
The upmarket retailer has been forced to call back a further two batches of the product due to the scare.
The recall consists of packs of Waitrose Wholesome Mixed Seeds (250g), Waitrose Wholesome Seed Nut and Sultana Sprinkle (400g) and Waitrose Wholesome Sesame Seeds (150g).
The move follows a similar announcement made late last week when Waitrose issued a recall on its 250g packs of Wholesome Mixed Seeds with best before dates of 8 March 2008 and 15 March 2008.
Tesco, the UKs largest supermarket chain, followed suit earlier in the week when it reported that it would be recalling certain batches of its Wholefood Seed Mix and Wholefood Savoury Seed Mix due to the same health scare concerns.
