Mr Green continued by stating that Tesco was looking to the top of the market were they would ultimately set their sights on the UKs high street giants, such as Next and Top Shop as well as Britain's biggest clothing retailer, Marks and Spencer .
"The company is committed to increasing the non food side of its business and closing the gap with M&S," he said.
In order to achieve this target the company knows they will have to up their standard for their clothing range in order to attract the more fashion keen customers .
